A Step-by-Step Guide for Finding Your Passion

Find your passionate path
woman walking step by step through wooded areaNot long ago, I wrote a brief post about my own frustrations over feeling like I don't truly know what my passion really is. Just today, while searching yet again for suggestions on how to remedy this problem, I actually came across a step-by-step guide for finding your passion. I decided to pass along the link for any of you who are faced with the same problem that I've been having.

It mystifies me in a way, that I don't know what it is that I should be doing in order to achieve that joyous potential that dwells inside of everyone. I suppose that you never get too old for self-discovery but at my age, I sort of figure that I should have it worked out by now. I know, drop the 'should have's'.

In my case, I fully expected to keep the same one passion all my life. It's been a bit of surprise to realize that it has changed over the years. Now, I feel a little lost in the living my passion department.

Anyway, back to the topic of this post - tips for helping you find your passion. The blog that I'm directing you to is called, ZenHabits. Maybe you've heard of it or are even a subscriber.

The Short but Powerful Guide to Finding Your Passion
post gives us a ten step guide that, if worked through, will be of assistance in the quest for that all-elusive passion. The author, Leo Babauta, says up front that his advice is not comprehensive and it will not find your passion for you. It will however, Leo says, help you on your journey in that direction.

If you're having trouble connecting with that special occupation that fills you with purpose and excitement, why not give Leo's suggestions a try. You've got nothing to lose and an awful lot to gain. The worst thing that can happen is that you learn a lot about yourself. And that's not a bad thing, is it?

Good luck.

Jerry and Esther's Law of Attraction BLOG

Jerry and Esther Hicks have had a website for Abraham for some time now but I just today discovered that they started a BLOG (that's how they spell it) in March of this year. Yes, that means I'm a little behind where Abraham is concerned.

In the blog's first post, it is mentioned that the blogging may be sporadic rather than regular. The rest of the post is full of fun and good humour, with Esther signing off as, "Jesterham".

Most months since March have seen some posting. The last one was in October of this year. If you skip over there to take a peek, you'll find a video of Jerry and Esther's Favourite Song Ever, along with some description of the wind up of Abraham's 2010 tour.

The video below is not connected to Jerry and Esther's Law of Attraction BLOG, at least as far as I know. I'm just putting it here for sheer enjoyment.

The Manifest-Station

A few years ago, I was told about the Manifest-Station by a friend. At that time, the site was a streaming TV, of sorts. You could watch workshops, lectures and other interesting LOA self-help programs on a rotating, 24 hour schedule. It seemed to me that most of the programming consisted of Neale Donald Walsch but that was okay because the Law was still new to me and everything about it was interesting.

I noticed, maybe it was last year, that the site no longer worked. There were no working programs at all, at least none that I could get to work. Just today, I thought of Manifest-Station again and went to check it out to see if it still exists and if so, would it offer the same format as before.

The answer is that yes, the site and its objective to share LOA information is up and running, however things at the Manifest-Station have changed a little from the way I knew it. The site is still a source of free Law of Attraction videos, audios and articles on demand but it now also features items for purchase. Can't blame them, everyone has the right and self-obligation to make a living.

Even with optional purchases now gracing the website, the Manifest-Station is worth having a look it. There are still numerous, helpful tools to assist you with your manifesting. Below, I am embedding the site's trailer for you to have a look at to get a sense of it.

Got Talent, No Passion

bored, bored, bored words
Am I the only person on the planet who is able to do a couple of things well but has no passion for them?

There are tons of articles online that talk about following your passions. Many also talk about your interests and talents being indicators of your passions. Nobody talks about being knowledgeable or talented in an area or two yet not feeling passionate about those things. If this is being discussed somewhere, I haven't found it yet.

I've been pondering this for quite awhile now. I can write and I know a lot about an industry that I worked in for many years. I enjoyed both things for a long time but for the past couple of years, I don't care nearly as much as I used to. Instead of flowing, it feels closer to struggle. Probably, I'm changing...but into what?

The one part of writing that still gets me excited is the sharing of helpful finds. This past week, as I found myself once again trying to sort out why I've been going through these feelings, I realized that I've been offering up researched sites, links, videos, etc. in most of my work. When I think about doing something like bringing Burt Goldman to people's attention, I feel good. That's just one example of an exciting find for me and I always hope that what I discover makes others feel good, too.

If feelings are our indicator, our internal guidance system, like Abraham suggests, then maybe I'm already following my passion. Too bad I hadn't let myself in on that fact so I could stop thinking incessantly about these things.

Perhaps, I'll try to forget about the subject and see what I notice. I'm not good at that, just yet anyway, but I'm curious enough about what might happen that I just may succeed.

Achieving Alpha State with Meditation Videos

There are a lot of alpha state meditation videos and audios online these days. Some are free and some are not. While there are myriad options, I'm not even sure how to figure out how you choose a meditation type that is a perfect fit (maybe that's a good topic to cover sometime) for me, short of trial and error.

Personally, I don't have a lot of patience for meditation recordings. Not because I don't think they're good or do what they claim. My reason is that I lean towards being hyper and anxious, so I like 'fast'. If something chugs along too slowly, it drives me to distraction and then I don't benefit from it. Entirely my own doing, nothing against the producers or creators of the meditation. I'm grateful that they share their gift with the rest of us. It's just me.

I'm posting a link to an Alpha State Brainwave Entrainment video because it really mellowed me out and I loved the images, thought they were beautiful. The audio in this YouTube is supposed to be (I have no idea if it is or not) binaural, meant to help you reach the alpha state to soothe, calm and restore focus. Like I said, it worked well for me and I'm hoping you have the same great experience with it.

If you just watched the video and are having the same reaction that I had, you are probably feeling pretty good now. Enjoy that sense of wellness and balance for as long as you possibly can.

Have a great weekend, everyone.

Now for Something Completely Different - Law of Attraction Comedy

I had never heard of Andy Dooley until today but now that I've discovered him, I just have to share. Andy is a Law of Attraction expert, bliss coach and comedian and he is fantastic! He uses a very entertaining mix of music and comedic presentation of LOA principals. I think you're going to love this guy's work.

This approach to teaching LOA techniques is completely new to me and I welcome it with open arms. It's light-hearted yet to the point. Perfect, in my opinion.

Enjoy Mr. Andy Dooley and his Law of Attraction comedy!

A Video for Inspiration

Inspiration can be difficult to come by at times, especially when things seem bleak. Yet, it's necessary to get the ball rolling again, to lift us out and away from trying circumstances.

Understandably, people who are down on their luck can use a little help in this department. That's why I chose to add this video today. It can give comfort to those who need it and a fresh reminder for the rest of us. It's a feel good piece, offering hope and suggesting that we move into the lead position to inspire others in the way that we want to be inspired. At least, that's my take on it.

The video was posted on YouTube by a Canadian company called, Lead Out Loud. I am not familiar with the site or it's owner, Sonia Ricotti, but if you'd like to check it out, I'm sure she won't mind. :) Like I said, I'm posting the video because I think it has nice content to share.

Enjoy the inspiration!
