Achieving Alpha State with Meditation Videos

There are a lot of alpha state meditation videos and audios online these days. Some are free and some are not. While there are myriad options, I'm not even sure how to figure out how you choose a meditation type that is a perfect fit (maybe that's a good topic to cover sometime) for me, short of trial and error.

Personally, I don't have a lot of patience for meditation recordings. Not because I don't think they're good or do what they claim. My reason is that I lean towards being hyper and anxious, so I like 'fast'. If something chugs along too slowly, it drives me to distraction and then I don't benefit from it. Entirely my own doing, nothing against the producers or creators of the meditation. I'm grateful that they share their gift with the rest of us. It's just me.

I'm posting a link to an Alpha State Brainwave Entrainment video because it really mellowed me out and I loved the images, thought they were beautiful. The audio in this YouTube is supposed to be (I have no idea if it is or not) binaural, meant to help you reach the alpha state to soothe, calm and restore focus. Like I said, it worked well for me and I'm hoping you have the same great experience with it.

If you just watched the video and are having the same reaction that I had, you are probably feeling pretty good now. Enjoy that sense of wellness and balance for as long as you possibly can.

Have a great weekend, everyone.

  1. Do you know if you are supposed to watch it or just listen? thanks!

  2. Sorry Anonymous, just found your comment.

I usually start out watching and listening and end up with my eyes closed, concentrating on the sounds. I think you're supposed to wear stereo headphones for the full effect, although I've used a regular headset and earbuds...depends on what I have at hand.

Thanks for your question. Hope you enjoy the experience as much as I do!

  3. By the way, I view the video in full screen mode. The imagery is quite awesome.
