Trying Too Hard

I was blessed last night with a phone call from a virtual friend. It was our first verbal conversation, as we normally interact via the internet. From the first moment, speaking with Dottie was pure joy. She is a warm, loving woman with a contagious laugh and a wonderful attitude. Dottie has learned how to surrender, and part of our conversation reminded me that trying too hard is detrimental to getting what we want because it blocks effortless attraction.

It's a natural human response to push on when we believe we need to take action in order to make something happen. When we see no sign of the desired results, we push a little harder, labouring under the misapprehension that if we just do more, we can force the outcome we want. What in fact happens, is exactly the opposite.

Any of the following symptoms sound familiar?
  • Nothing seems to be working right
  • You're acting out of frustration or desperation rather than Divine guidance
  • Stress levels are high
  • Focus and clarity have been replaced with fatigue, confusion and scattered-ness

Trying too hard essentially blocks the flow and is a form of resistance. It creates a dam between you and your desire.

If you really want the most magnificent results as quickly as possible, you have to stop trying to control how things happen. Let go. Ask the Universe for what you want with as much clarity as you can and know that everything will be taken care of. Surrender the 'how' and follow your inner guidance so that you can take advantage of Spirit's willingness and ability to bring you everything you need to achieve your goals.

Thank-you, Dottie Angel, for reminding me that effortless attraction works so much better than trying too hard. Love ya, my friend!

  1. Hey Shirley:

You have this way about you that ALWAYS makes me laugh!

To stumble across this article was not only delightful but humbling as well to read that you felt blessed as a result of our phone conversation. I knew exactly what you meant because it was exactly I how I felt too.

Isn't it amazing how this call came about in perfect order; how it all fell into place without either of us trying too hard. This is the example of what I was trying to convey and here it is in black and white.

Oh, I can tell we are in for a good year; all of us angels; you and me and rip and dayz and comp, lol. Thanks for the uplifting and support you leant me this year, my dearest angel Shirley!

    Love ya lots,
    Dottie

Just wanted to start the new year by saying that I am so grateful for your friendship, as well as that of the other angels. You are all such blessings to me and I have no doubt that we were brought together for a reason.

    Love & Light, Dottie Angel!
